Diaphragm Failure #3 - What Has Caused This Issue??

As far as diaphragm failures are concerned, there are a number of failure types. Different types of failures are caused by different problems.

Regarding the diaphragm rupture in the photo below, what has caused this problem?

Answer: Over Torque

This diaphragm will have a pronounced cut around its outside edge. This is caused by the chambers of the pump cutting into the diaphragms due to over tightening (usually metal only). This situation can be avoided by paying close attention to the torque values in the manuals.
