Yamada AODD Pump for Natto Production!

"Nattō" is a traditional and popular Japanese food made from fermented soybeans. It is often served with a bowl of rice.
In Japan, Yamada AODD pumps are used for this Natto production!!

In brief, the natto production processes include;
- Soaking soybeans in water
- Boiling soybeans
- Sprinkling bacteria on the soybeans
- Fermentation
and
- Packing
Yamada AODD pumps are used for the boiling and the bacteria-sprinkling phases.

When it comes to the boiling phase, Yamada pumps are used to transfer the waste boiled water. In fact, the water contains a lot of bean residues. Therefore, the pump needs to have the ability to transfer liquid containing solid materials.

As far as the bacteria- sprinkling phase is concerned, the pumps are used for filter press. In other words, the liquid goes through filter press before the sprinkling process in order to separate the bacteria and the rest. Yamada AODD pumps, which can get deadheaded with no damage, can be used for filter press without any bypass relief valve because they have no problem when solid materials are accumulated in the filter press and the discharge line becomes clogged!!
